Principle

Tryptone soya agar is used for the cultivation of a wide variety of organisms. The medium is highly nutritious and composed of tryptone, soya peptone, sodium chloride, and agar. Tryptone, papain digest of soy peptone provides an ample amount of the carbon and nitrogen source and trace. Sodium chloride maintains the osmotic balance and agar is used as solidifying agent.

Use: Recommended for the isolation and cultivation of fastidious microorganisms from clinical and non-clinical samples.
