Trichoderma harzianum is an efficient bio-control agent that is commercially produced to prevent the development of several soil pathogenic fungi. Trichoderma harzianum cultivation broth is composed of magnesium sulfate, dipotassium hydrogen phosphate, ammonium nitrate, potassium chloride, and glucose.
- Glucose serves as a source of energy, as well as carbohydrate and dipotassium hydrogen phosphate buffers the medium.
- Magnesium sulfate and potassium chloride act as a source of ions required for various enzymatic reactions. Ammonium nitrate provides a source of nitrogen.
