Principle
- Potato Carrot Broth is recommended for the cultivation, maintenance, conservation, and reproduction of fungi specially Actinoplanes awajinensis , Actinoplanes nirasakiensis , Amorphosphorangium auranticolor , Streptomyces flavus, Pyronema domesticum and Thermoactinomyces vulgaris.
- The media is composed of carrot infusion form and potato infusion form. Potato and carrots provide the natural nutritional content required for the growth of fungi.
- The media contain necessary nutrients, minerals, and vitamins which limit the growth of organisms, and provide only those nutrients essential for their existence rather than their growth.
- The restriction in growth leads to spore formation as compared to mycelium growth.
