MitoTracker Mitochondrial fluorescent probe - Cell Detection Reagent
MitoTracker Mitochondrial fluorescent probe is a cell-permeable X-rosaline derivative that contains a weak sulfhydryl reaction that marks mitochondria's Responsive chloromethyl functional group.
This product is an oxidized red fluorescent dye, after incubating the cells, they can be passively transported across the cell membrane and directly aggregated on active mitochondria. Once the mitochondria are stained, they can still be follow-up experiments require fixation (aldehyde fixatives such as formaldehyde) and permeabilization (aldehyde detergents such as Triton X-100), the probe is still held in the cell. This product is suitable for double-label experiments because its red fluorescence and other green fluorescence probes have good resolution.
Although traditional mitochondrial fluorescent probes such as TMR and Rhodamine 123 can easily accumulate on functional mitochondria, once the mitochondrial membrane potential is lost, it will be washed away, so some cells need to be fixed by aldehydes or contain mitochondrial energy status.
