HEPES, Free acid- Cell Culture Reagent
HEPES (N'-a-hydroxythylpiperazine-N'-ethanesulfanic acid) is a hydrogen ion buffer that controls a constant pH range for extended periods of time. The effective buffer range is pH 6.8-8.2. It is a commonly used buffer to prepare the cell culture. HEPES is used in cell culture at a final concentration of 10-25mM and maintains a constant pH during open culture or cell observation.
The HEPES buffers are aseptically processed and can be used directly in cell culture. Storage at 4°C can extend the shelf life of the product, and it is not recommended to store it at low temperature for a long time.
