Casein Hydrolysate Yeast Extract Broth is formulated as per APHA (2001) for cultivating Vibrio cholerae while testing their enterotoxigenicity. The media is formulated in such a manner to enhance the production of Vibrio enterotoxin which helps in testing their enterotoxigenicity.
The medium is composed of casein Hydrolysate, yeast extract, dipotassium phosphate, and dextrose. The casein hydrolysate and yeast extract provide essential nitrogenous nutrients and B vitamins to the growing Vibrios.
