14-3-3 epsilon blocking peptide
Blocking peptide binds specifically to the target antibody and blocks undesirable antibody binding.
This occurs because the peptide resembles the epitope for which the antibody is specific, therefore, the antibody that binds to the blocking peptide is no longer able to bind to the epitope in the protein.
Pre-adsorption with blocking peptide greatly improves the results and it is extremely useful in immunohistochemistry (IHC) or in Western blotting (immunoblotting) when a non-specific binding is an issue.
