Principle
- Azotobacter glucose agar consists of Magnesium sulfate, potassium hydrogen phosphate, Dipotassium hydrogen phosphate, calcium chloride, sodium molybdate, ferric chloride, glucose, and agar.
- Glucose is a carbon source. Magnesium sulfate, calcium chloride, sodium molybdate, and ferric chloride provide essential ions and sources of trace elements required for the metabolic activities of microorganisms. Potassium phosphates act as a buffering agent. Agar is the solidifying agent.
Use:
Recommended for the cultivation of glucose-positive Azotobacter species from soil.
