Antigen Retrieval Solution
Sodium Citrate Antigen Retrieval solution is commonly used as an antigenic repair solution which can be used for the frozen and paraffin-embedded sections. Sodium Citrate Antigen retrieval can be used after fixation with paraformaldehyde, formaldehyde, or other aldehyde reagents. It effectively removes cross-linking between proteins caused by aldehyde immobilization reagents, and fully exposes antigenic epitopes in samples such as paraffin sections, thereby greatly improving the immunostaining effect. It can improve the immunostaining effect of paraffin sections, and can also improve the staining effect of frozen sections to varying degrees.
Usually paraffin sections require antigen retrieval, while frozen sections may not be subjected to antigen retrieval.
The solution is supplied in 50x concentrate and should be diluted prior to use.
The 10 ml of Sodium Citrate-Antigen solution is recommended for each slide; 100 ml of 50x solution can be used for antigen retrieval of 500 samples.
