Actinomyces broth contains beef heart infusion, yeast extract, starch, and dextrose, which act as sources of carbon, nitrogen, vitamins, and other essential growth factors.
Casein enzymic hydrolysate provides completely hydrolyzed protein as a nitrogen source. L-cysteine is the source of nitrogen and a growth stimulator. Starch is a carbon source. Sodium chloride maintains the osmotic balance of the medium.
Metallic salts like sodium chloride, monopotassium phosphate, ammonium sulfate, magnesium sulphate, and calcium chloride provide essential electrolytes and minerals.
Use: Recommended for cultivation and propagation of Actinomycetes pure cultures and enrichment from soil and water samples.
